The other day when I saw these lovely Jatropha buds at 5 am at Torchio Nursery, I knew that I had to use them in a holiday arrangement. They are so unique looking; to me, they look like coral. So, I combined them with some of my favorite flowers like "Paperwhite" narcissus (which I also quite unexpectedly found on that same day). Between the Paperwhites, tuberose, and the aromatic geranium leaves I used, this arrangement smelled amazing! Once I was done with this DIY, I took the arrangement to a friend. Giving my floral work to people who appreciate them is one of my most favorite things about this job!
Flowers: jatropha, mistletoe, scabiosa, ivy, narcissus, poinsettia, peony, tuberose, anemone, tulip, geranium
Begin with the mistletoe branches.
Add the geranium.
Place the jatropha in a bunch inside the vase. When there are more than a few stems in a bunch, they look so pretty.
Add the Paperwhite narcissus.
Arrange the one peony as well as the poinsettia.
Now for the tuberose - just a couple of stems.
Add the anemone.
And a tulip or two.
As a final festive touch add the ivy berries. I grabbed some ivy berries (Hedera Helix) from my yard. The ivy this time of year is abundant with these lovely berries. I dusted them with some metallic gold paint and then used them in the arrangement.
