Many of you know how much I love Italy and all things Italian. I studied in Italy as both an undergraduate and graduate student, and never pass on an opportunity to visit my "second home". I even met my husband in an upper division Italian class - which happened to be a class focused on Italian business and how to get a job and work in Italy. It continues to amaze and humble me that 20 years later, I am privileged to be able to work in Italy for both workshops and weddings.
In May, while in Italy for a wedding Lake Como, I was able to take a day off and do a demonstration and book signing in Bologna - where I was once a graduate student. It was wonderful to be able to visit Bologna again after many years, and the amazing reception I received from the floral community in Italy brought me to tears.
Carolina of Oui Fleurs - one of my workshop hosts in Zoagli last year and a great friend, arranged a magical event at Palazzo Albergati, a gorgeous 16th century palace. The event was so well attended that we ran out of books! I did a centerpiece demonstration, the signing, and then we all ate, drank, and conversed for a couple of hours in true Italian style. So many wonderful groups sponsored this event - from the venue, food, dessert, flowers, transportation - everything, and it wouldn't have been possible without them.
