Early Autumn Highlights

Here are some highlights of what early autumn has looked like so far for me. Due to a very warm September, my garden still thinks it is summer, so I have been enjoying my roses quite a lot. Everything in this arrangement is from my garden.

I was pleasantly surprised to find peonies at the market this month - with all sorts of beautiful peonies coming from Chile. So, of course I took the opportunity to create an arrangement around this rich color pallete pairing tree peonies with these awesome carnations! The fuchsia is a touch from my own garden.

Impromptu

Hooray for Friday everyone! This was a crazy busy week for me, so I sure am glad it is over. When I got back from my recent road trip, I made this impromptu arrangement with everything I had in my garden. I am a sucker for variety, and the more elements I can incorporate into my arrangements the happier I am. I have to admit, it is one of my favorites.

Unique Vessels: French Onion Soup Bowl

It has been a little while since I've done a Unique Vessels post. The other day as I made french onion soup for dinner and took out my special bowls, I decided that they would be pretty with flowers in them! So, I made a little centerpiece with what I had in my garden. And so was born yet another post! Kiana Underwood / tulipina.com | Photography: N. Underwood / nruphoto.com

Now add the garlic flowers in a bunch. Kiana Underwood / tulipina.com | Photography: N. Underwood / nruphoto.com

Add the hellebore. These beautiful flowers blooming in my garden in the middle of winter are really a gift! Kiana Underwood / tulipina.com | Photography: N. Underwood / nruphoto.com

Add the kale right where there is an empty space. Kale is a great replacement for a rose as a focal point! Kiana Underwood / tulipina.com | Photography: N. Underwood / nruphoto.com

Add the euphorbia and orchid - and voilà, you have a lovely garden arrangement! Kiana Underwood / tulipina.com | Photography: N. Underwood / nruphoto.com
