Autumn Wedding

Autumn weddings are some of my favorite, as I love the opportunity for some of the rust and gold-colored palettes that come with the season. This wedding in San Francisco was no exception, and I was able to take advantage of some lovely amaryllis and golden persimmons in conjunction with rose, tuberose, and eucalyptus. Not only were the colors out of this world, but the smell floating through the wedding reception was heavenly. And the icing on the cake was the kind and lovely "thank you" e-mail I received from a very happy bride the following Monday! Early Autumn Arrangements

I don't often do single arrangements, but I won't lie, when a lovely gentleman calls you, and asks for a "spectacular" arrangement for his wife on their anniversary, it is hard to say no! So, here is my version of spectacular. With autumn it is so easy to create "knock your socks off" arrangements because the colors and textures available are simply beyond amazing!! As a designer, I am truly in heaven in autumn.

This is a little something I put together just for me to enjoy. One of the great things about visiting the flower mart is that I usually have leftovers for myself, and I always take advantage of it and put together a few little things for around the house. The raindrops on my roses this morning were truly a novelty given the serious drought we've been having in California. Early Autumn Arrangements / Kiana Underwood / tulipina.com | Photography: Nathan Underwood / nruphoto.com

Bridal: Late Autumn Styling

I did the floral styling for this wedding a couple of weekends ago. The lovely bride wanted to go all-out with darker autumn colors and said that she wanted her bouquet to be a little "wild" with some reds. This is what I came up with. The bouquet and centerpieces are a great example of what you can do with fall and winter varieties. After the wedding I received a wonderful thank you note. It is always delightful to hear that someone has enjoyed their flowers, and there is nothing more rewarding to me than happy clients.

A special note to those of you who enjoy these posts and leave wonderful thoughts and comments: Thank you. I really do appreciate it, and it makes continuing to work on this blog worthwhile!
