A Little Experiment

Last year, I did a floral laboratory shoot, and it turned out to be quite a hit. So, when the designlovefest crew asked me to do the florals for their BLOGSHOP SF in April, I created these examples for them. I must admit, I do love how they turned out: unique and colorful! Have a lovely Friday, and a lovely weekend!

The Last Vestiges of Spring

Spring starts early in California, which means all the cherry blossoms start blooming in late February and are finished by mid-April. It's not quite like the East Coast where Spring is really in full swing right now. However, once in a while I still find late blooming (for California) blossoms here and there in areas where they haven't been too exposed to the sun. A week a go I discovered a very pretty cherry tree in full bloom. It was not in anyone's yard, so I didn't feel too badly about clipping a couple of small branches (shhh - don't tell anyone!). There are a number of great elements about what is going on in this arrangement. 1) is that I really like the vase that I have used, 2) are the cherry blossoms, and 3) is the agrostemma (aka corncockle – the white flowers) that I purchased from Bi-Rite market.
