Unique Vessels: Vintage Campfire Ladle

A couple of months ago I went antiquing with my mother-in-law and found some wonderful vessels. It is always so much fun to see what's out there. There were two vessels in particular that I thought were quite appropriate for me to use as unique vessels. I mean, look at what it says on the mug: "Things to do today: pick kids up, drop kids off, pick kids up, drop kids off"! Add: walk the dog, make floral arrangements, do the laundry, tend the garden, help kids with homework, help kids with music practice, and make dinner - then that is a day in my life. Flowers: snowball, cilantro bloom, ranunculus, poppy, geranium, thyme Kiana Underwood / tulipina.com

In and amongst all that I do, I make the time to fool around with unique styling. I'll bet this campfire ladle has seen many campfires, but never a bouquet of flowers! I really like how happy these little arrangements turned out. Once I was done, they occupied and beautified my kitchen windowsill for some time. Kiana Underwood / tulipina.com

This last shot is dedicated to my friend Will Taylor. I just finished his new book - which was amazing. So inspiring that I wanted to redecorate my whole house, but instead, I had to settle for these happy and colorful arrangements. If you haven't seen the book (or heard of Will), I urge you to check it out. Kiana Underwood / tulipina.com

Humans with Bouquets: Will

As some of you know, I was recently in London. I would be lying if I told you I wasn't super excited about this particular feature today! Everything about this shoot was an amazing experience - from the moment I asked Will Taylor to be one of my humans, to the day I visited the New Covent Garden Market to buy flowers, through to the day that I photographed him on the bank of the Thames in beautiful London. For those of you who aren't familiar with Will, you soon will be, as his book Bright Bazaar: Embracing Color for Make-You-Smile Style is about to be released (April 29 in the US) and it is going to explode your mind. He is also a freelance designer, and the founder and editor of the wonderful interior design and color blog Bright.Bazaar. If you haven't guessed it yet, and couldn't tell from these photos, Will is all about color.

If you'd like to meet Will, he is going to be in Los Angeles and New York for book signings in May. Please check his blog for details!

In my opinion (and clearly many others), Will's taste and style are immaculate, but what has endeared him to me most is the kind, humble, and wonderful person that he is. It is a pleasure to have you on my blog Will - thank you for participiating in my series and for a great day in London. You certainly have brought color and happiness to Humans with Bouquets!

The beauty of buying flowers in Europe in spring is that these amazing ranunculi were abundant and coming straight over from Holland. Styling and photography by Kiana Underwood / tulipina.com

Can you tell Will is a natural at this? I didn't have to tell him how to pose at all - all I did was snap away - and, of course, wound up with lots of favorite photos to share! Styling and photography by Kiana Underwood / tulipina.com
