Mother's Day Tea Party DIY

Mother's Day is rapidly approaching (May 12 in the U.S. and many other countries), and I thought that it would be fun to spend most of the next few weeks with posts and DIYs highlighting great floral ideas for mom. Our moms are such an important part of our lives, and taking the time to do something special goes a long way toward giving back to someone who has given us so much. tulipina.com / Kiana Underwood

To start things off, this oh-so-simple (and it really is) tea party would be great for an afternoon with mom, or even as a stunning centerpiece for a Mother's Day brunch. The flowers are laid out at the bottom of a tiered stand, and wonderful pastries and fruits are placed above. A selection of teas, mug (love those owls), and teapot complete things.

Note: You can use any flowers that you find beautiful for this. I chose some varieties that were bold in color and texture, but that didn't have to be in water constantly. Needless to say, this is not a long-lasting arrangement, as water is necessary to prolong a cut flower's life.

I hope that you will give this a try and spoil mom on her special day.
