Lovely Succulent and Hydrangea DIY

I first spotted this lovely succulent a couple of months ago at the San Francisco Flower Mart. So, I promptly bought a couple of stems, used them in an arrangement and then planted them in my garden. Did you know that you can re-plant a single cut stem and that it will continue to grow?! This particular succulent plant is called Aeonium Sunburst, and I just love its unique color combination. I decided to combine it with some Japanese privet berries (a tree right in front of my house), some annuals from the garden, as well as some amazing light pink 'Big Ben' hydrangeas. Succulents are often used to add body and texture to an arrangement, but they also work very well as the star. With their ability to be replanted after use, they are also an amazing bargain in the world of cut flowers. / Kiana Underwood
