Going to our local farmer's market here in Burlingame is one of my favorite Sunday morning activities. Nearly everything is organic and fresh from the local farms and I usually come home with some really wonderful goodies. Last Sunday I came home with some lovely finds for floral arrangements. I bought some tuberose (one of my absolute favorite flowers), basil with florets, and chile peppers with a lovely vibrant color. I used the basil and peppers from the market, and added some zinnias, tomatoes and grape leaves from my garden to complete the "fresh from the market" look.
My farmers market finds
Flowers: zinnia, chile pepper, basil, grape leaves, and tomatoes
You can never go wrong with pedestal vases
Begin with the grape leaves
Add the tomato vines - I like to use their leaves too if they are nice and green
And the peppers...
I just love these basil flowers, and they sure smell amazing!
Finally, add the beautiful zinnia for added color and texture
