Weekly Inspiration: Lily of the Valley

I had a wedding last weekend and the bride wanted soft colors - specifically white peonies, silver succulents, and parrot tulips. In general, my style is such that I like to include a variety of different elements in each bouquet. So, I was not about to make a bouquet with only those three ingredients - it's just not me, and it wouldn't be very interesting as far as I'm concerned. So, here is what I came up with: Flowers: bellflower, ranunculus, parrot tulip, garden rose, climbing rose, peony, flowering onion, jasmine, lily of the valley Kiana Underwood / tulipina.com | Photography: N.R. Lily of the valley is always such a treat - so delicate and beautiful, and with the sweetest aroma. While I couldn't mix these in the bridal bouquet (just too delicate and small next to the large peony - they would get lost) I wanted to still incorporate them somewhere, so I used them for the boutonnieres and and corsages. And I think it was the perfect unexpected touch! Kiana Underwood / tulipina.com | Photography: N.R. Underwood / nruphoto.com

I don't think I could ever get sick of peonies. Look at these - they look like the feathers of a swan! Kiana Underwood / tulipina.com | Photography: N.R. Underwood / nruphoto.com

Weekly Inspiration: Mother's Day Recap

Happy Wednesday! It's been a while since I have done a midweek post! On Wednesdays, I have decided to share some pictures of the work I have done over the previous weekend, or just a simple snap from something cool for a weekly dose of inspiration. Today I am sharing a recap of my Mother's Day weekend. I had a a very busy weekend. In addition to some of the custom arrangements I made for a number of moms, I had a pop up shop at Craftsman and Wolves in San Francisco. It was a bit of work, but also a lot of fun.

This is one of the custom arrangements I made with plum branch, garden rose, tulip, ranunculus, poppy, cilantro blossom, vibernum, orchid, and kumquat. It was not only a hit with the receiver, but my Instagram community LOVED it too! Kiana Underwood / tulipina.com | Photography: N.R. Underwood / nruphoto.com

Sample arrangements I made for our Mother's Day pop up shop. We had two arrangements for sale, one in a bucket, and one in a beaker. The beakers were definitely a hit (and my favorite too)!
