Happy Monday friends! I know that I missed my post last Friday, but it has been crazy busy for me between the holidays, weddings, and events. Nonetheless, here I am. Back in action!
I warned you about my obsession with amaryllis during the holidays – it’s just that they are readily available and in such beautiful variety that I can’t hold back. For today’s post I decided to use an antique fruit bowl I purchased at an estate sale some time ago as my floral vessel. The glass bowl has a wonderful pinkish hue, and a silver-plated holder with a lovely patina.
Flowers: hydrangea, amaryllis, passion vine, garden rose, hyacinth, geranium
Begin with the vine. I used three stems total, two in this shot and the one more at the end.
Add the geranium. This particular kind is quite delicate and will wilt quickly if the stems are not in water.
Place the hyacinth on one side and allow them to drape a bit over the bowl.
Add the hydrangea. I’m generally not a big fan of hydrangea, but the lacecap variety is really lovely and you might see more of it being used in my future blog posts.
Arrange the amaryllis inside the vase. A great thing about amaryllis is that each stem can have up to 3-4 flowers, so you don’t need that many total stems.
Finally, add the juliet garden rose. Also, remember that one stem of passion I had saved? I used it here to add a little more drama to the design!
