I cannot believe that it is October already friends! Honestly, where did September go? Well, here we are nonetheless. I have to admit though, as a floral designer, I really don’t mind that it is October. The weather here in Northern California has been amazing, and the floral variety I have been able to find is out of this world – not to mention the abundance of pumpkins at every market and all of the autumn spices in the air!
With today’s post, I am starting what I’d like to call an October color series. I feel like autumn has so many lovely colors that an entire month should be devoted to all the colors and textures and amazing variety offered by this beautiful season.
Today’s DIY is really simple, but in my opinion also really pretty. I happened to find a selection of flowers that are very similar in color and with a perfect autumn feel, and combined them with a lovely green/blue contrasting vase.
Cute blue/green vase. I love the rough texture.
Flowers: spider lily, ranunculus, holly, amaryllis, tree fern
Begin by placing the holly berries. I could have just stopped at that, I love holly!
Add the spider lily
Add the ranunculus throughout the vase
As a final touch I used the tree fern. I think it looks like lace and it adds a sort of a dreamy feel.
Finally, the amaryllis feels right at home in this remaining empty space.
